Global Care of New York (GCNY) provides services to newborns and mothers. Our Maternal/Child program is available to mothers before and after delivery in the hospital(s). Our maternal child nurse(s) provides effective strategies to minimize stress and adjust adequately to the transition of motherhood. When the baby arrives, under physician referral, our maternal child health nurse(s) visit the newborn at home, helping new mothers feel confident breastfeeding, bathing, and effectively caring for their babies. AT GCNY, our nurses are fully prepared to evaluate your situation and propose a personal care plan to meet your specific needs.
Our postpartum service embraces early discharge follow-up, maternal assessment, Infant assessment, lessons in self-care, as well as lessons in newborns.
Our Program Goals
- Educate the mother on infant care and effective management of newborns.
- Establish effective feedings and nutrition for infant(s).
- Stabilize postpartum status for the mother.
- Improve mother-baby bonding.
Our Maternal Child Program Is for You When:
Your child requires Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech Therapy, and a home exercise program.
You are a first-time or older mother.
You have a question about breastfeeding.
Your physician has ordered Synagis injections for the prevention of RSV.
Your baby was born prematurely.
